Welcome to the PSJA Early Start Pre-K School website!

PSJA Early Start Pre-K School is pre-K partnership , or collaboration, that was formed under House Bill (HB) 2607 between Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District, 38+ quality-rated child care providers, three Hidalgo County Head Start centers, and one UMOS-Community Development Institute migrant head start center to provide high quality care and education to eligible three- and four-year-old children. This collaboration enables us to have a Student-to-Teacher-Plus-Aide Ratio of 15:1.

Our pre-K partnerships provide numerous benefits to families and childcare partner programs.

For families, PSJA Early Start Pre-K School partnerships can provide:

• Access to high-quality pre-K instruction to support children’s transition to kindergarten;
• Consistency between the school day and before or aftercare;
• Better hours for working parents who need a full workday of care; and a childcare curriculum aligned with our school district, which increases children’s school readiness.

For child care programs, PSJA Early Start Pre-K School partnerships can provide:

• An opportunity to share knowledge and learn from state-certified teachers about student centered instruction and more intentional and hands-on lessons;
• A pathway to help transition children to public school for kindergarten; and
increased school readiness, resources, and professional development opportunities.

PSJA Early Start Pre-K School es un planteamiento asociativo preescolar, o colaboración, que se formo bajo la ley House Bill (HB) 2607 entre el distrito escolar Pharr-San Juan-Álamo, 38+ guarderías calificadas, tres centros del programa Hidalgo County Head Start, y un centro especializado para migrantes—UMOS-Community Development Institute con el fin de proveer cuidado de alta calidad y educación a pequeños de tres y cuatro años que califiquen. Esta colaboración nos permite tener una proporción de 15:1 Estudiante-a-Maestro(a)-Mas-Asistente.

Nuestra asociación preescolar tiene numerosos beneficios para familias y guarderías, o centros de cuidado para niños.

Para familias, las colaboraciónes de PSJA Early Start Pre-K School pueden proveer:

• Acceso a instrucción preescolar, conocida como Pre-K, de alta calidad para apoyar la transición al Kinder;
• Consistencia entre el día escolar y cuidado antes y después;
• Mejor horario para padres que trabajan y necesitan un día entero de cuidado; y
Currículo del centro de cuidado alineado con el distrito escolar, que incrementara la preparación escolar para los estudiantes.

Para las guarderías, o centros de cuidado, las colaboraciónes con PSJA Early Start Pre-K School pueden proveer:

• Una oportunidad de compartir conocimiento y aprender de educadores certificados sobre instrucción intencional y centrada en los alumnos al igual de lecciones practicas;
• Una manera de apoyar la transición de los niños a una escuela publica para el Kinder; y Incrementar la preparación escolar, recursos, y oportunidades para desarrollo profesional.

Vision

Through a supportive partnership, PSJA Early Start Pre-K School, along with Child Care Centers, Hidalgo County Head Start Program (HCHSP), and the Community Development Institute Head Start (CDI), are committed to provide all students with a high-quality education that will help them develop their full potential, nurture their sense of individual worth, and build a strong foundation for Kindergarten and beyond.

Mission

In collaboration, PSJA Early Start Pre-K School, together with Child Care Centers, Hidalgo County Head Start Program (HCHSP), and the Community Development Institute Head Start (CDI), are focused on building a strong early foundation vital to ALL students.  PSJA Early Start Pre-K School is committed through the concerted efforts of the principal, staff, parents, and the community to implement effective developmentally appropriate teaching strategies and offer diverse opportunities that will provide a playful, planful, and purposeful program that will promote school readiness and future academic success of ALL students.
